Riot Games has unleashed Patch 1.2.5 for 2XKO, bringing sweeping changes to the game's Fuse system that promise to reshape the meta across all skill levels. This update, arriving July 23, 2026, targets the balance between beginner-friendly and expert-level play, introduces new defensive tools, and packs in quality-of-life fixes alongside fresh cosmetic content.

Juggernaut Gets a Competitive Edge

Juggernaut, a Fuse that has long dominated intermediate and beginner play but struggled at higher levels, receives a significant upgrade. The headline change is the ability to solo dash cancel any attack by spending 30% of the Break meter—a mechanic previously exclusive to Fury mode. This opens up new combo routes and pressure options, allowing Juggernaut users to fight back against pushblock strategies effectively.

To support this new tool, Riot has buffed overall Super meter gain by 25% and reworked pushblock to no longer consume Break meter, now operating on a 4-second cooldown instead. However, Break meter gain on hitting opponents has been halved, and successful Eject moves now grant only 10% Break meter instead of 20%. These trade-offs ensure that while Juggernaut gains advanced options, its raw meter generation is curbed.

Juggernaut now dash cancels attacks for 30% Break meter (same as Fury)

Overall Super meter gain increased by 25%

Pushblock cooldown set to 4 seconds, no Break cost

Break gain on hit reduced by 50%

Eject Break gain reduced from 20% to 10%

Freestyle Toned Down for High-Level Play

Freestyle has been the dominant force in expert-level play thanks to the power of two Handshake Tags. Riot is reining in this Fuse with a series of nerfs that maintain its flexibility while introducing significant risk. Overall Break meter gain is cut by 35%, and hitting an Assist now triggers a 6-second cooldown for that Assist. Crucially, Freestyle Tag can no longer be used immediately after a Break or pushblock, and the tag window has been reduced from 80 frames to 60.

These changes aim to reduce the oppressive combo and blockstring potential that Freestyle offered, making baiting Break less effective and forcing players to be more deliberate with their tag usage.

Sidekick and Assist System Updates

Sidekick receives targeted buffs to compensate for the removal of Handshake Tag from Assist scenarios. Overall Super meter gain is up by 15%, and the Point champion can now move freely during Sidekick Super. Assists used as combo starters no longer cause additional damage scaling, and pushblock now pushes both opposing champions instead of just one.

A major system-wide change prevents players from Handshake Tagging to Assist champions after blocking an attack, though exceptions exist for pushblock, Break, or contact with an opponent. Similarly, the 2X Assist action can no longer be performed after blocking. This tightens defensive options and rewards offensive pressure.

Dash, Throw Tech, and Bug Fixes

The dash system sees crucial adjustments: players must now hold forward when tapping dash to perform a dash cancel in Fury or Juggernaut mode, reducing accidental inputs. Getup attacks can no longer be dash canceled, and backdash inputs are buffered until the animation ends, preventing hidden throw or tag inputs.

Throw tech distance has been increased, especially when cornered, giving players more room to fight back after a successful tech. This addresses an issue where faster champions could immediately re-engage with medium attacks.

The patch also squashes numerous bugs, including issues with Break startup pushback, hurtbox persistence, throw direction on roll punishes, and multi-hit projectile frame data. Juggernaut-specific bugs like missing Break meter on ranged Supers and incorrect Eject costs are fixed, along with Teamfight activation timing and visual glitches.

New Cosmetics and Chipotle Collaboration

Two new cosmetic megabundles arrive: Culinary Masters (featuring Akali, Caitlyn, and Teemo) launches July 23, followed by Coven (Ahri, Illaoi, and Senna) on August 11. Both are available for a limited time.

Riot has also partnered with Chipotle for a two-part in-game event. Part two runs from July 21 to August 6, featuring unique missions and a Chipotle-themed Casual Lobby. US players can earn real-life Chipotle coupons by completing in-game missions. Rewards may take up to two weeks to process, so check your Riot account email (including spam folders).
