Teamfight Tactics patch 18.3 has arrived, and it's a medium-sized update with a clear mission: breathe new life into compositions that showed promise during PBE but never found their footing in the live game. The Wolf Bros are finally getting their moment, several underperforming reroll carries are receiving meaningful buffs, and Riot has shipped a substantial batch of bug fixes split between gameplay and stability improvements. Oh, and Kha'Zix can rest easy—the bug squashing this time around isn't aimed at him.

Reroll Comps Get Some Love

The headline changes focus on reviving reroll strategies that have been struggling. Karma is getting buffs across every star level, with a particularly notable boost at three stars where she's been absent as a mid-game carry. Alistar, previously little more than a bulky health bar at three stars, now deals significantly more damage and heals more effectively. Gromp receives improvements to both AD and AP forms, and the Wolf Bros—Warwick and Murkwolf—are positioned as a fresh Level 6 reroll option. Veigar's power ceiling is being trimmed slightly, but his baseline damage is going up so he's less of a dead unit when played for traits rather than as the centerpiece.

Wisp Nerfs and Trait Adjustments

Blossom (3) has been overperforming thanks to a handful of powerful Wisps, so Riot is trimming value across numerous Charms. While the patch notes list a long series of nerfs, the developers note that in practice players will typically only feel two to five of these adjustments in a given game. Coven is receiving a buff to Loss Essence generation across most breakpoints, pulling the high-stakes trait out of the shadows. Meanwhile, the top breakpoints for Hunter, Defender, Invoker, and Inferno are all getting nerfed, with the changes split into smaller pieces alongside Emblem adjustments to avoid making max breakpoints or Emblems useless.

  • Blossom Charms: Animate Shop duration down to 24s, Blaze damage reduced to 1.25% max Health, and numerous other Charm tweaks.
  • Coven Essence Per Loss increased to 22/28/35/60.
  • Hunter bonus AD at max breakpoint lowered to 60%.
  • Defender max resists reduced from 120 to 115.

Unit and Artifact Tuning

Several individual units are seeing adjustments beyond the reroll carries. Ornn's three-star Forge Power bonus is being reduced, and his second Artifact threshold lowered, slowing down his ability to print Artifacts for Solar comps. Cassiopeia and Rammus get direct buffs to compensate for the 6 Defender nerf. Lillia receives a healing increase to help her survive for a second cast, while Nidalee's AD form gets a small damage nerf and her AP form's third attack gets a buff. Taric's heal is improved, but his passive team-wide shield is reduced. On the Artifact side, The Collector's AD is down slightly, Statikk Shiv gains base Ability Power, and Eternal Pact's mana on tank ability cast is reduced.

Augments, Emblems, and Bug Fixes

Augments receive a wave of changes, mostly buffs to combat Augments that have been deprioritized this set. Retribution is getting a nerf after being overbuffed through the Hand of Justice changes. The It's Me Baby Augment's empowered hex has been renamed from Spotlight to Championship hex. Emblems see smaller nerfs, including Brawler, Hunter, Invoker, and Juggernaut, while Brawler Emblem actually gets a buff. The patch also includes a long list of bug fixes: missing PvE fights have been restored, an Augment UI issue that could cause incorrect selections is resolved, and several other gameplay and stability problems are addressed. Infinity Protection is temporarily disabled due to a bug, and Item Extraction now grants an additional Azir while reducing the number of extractions to three.
