Welcome back, party people! Patch 17.6 is here, and while it’s a lighter update compared to previous patches, it packs a punch with a sweeping pass on Augments, specific champion and trait adjustments, and updates to Pengu’s Party. The team at Riot Games is keeping the meta stable ahead of regional tournaments, but they’ve still found room to shake things up. This patch will last three weeks (one week longer than usual), with Patch 17.7 arriving on July 15th to give Rioters a well-deserved break. Let’s dive into the highlights.

Mobile Minimum Spec Changes

Starting July 22nd, TFT will end support for 2GB and 3GB mobile devices. As the game continues to evolve, these older devices can no longer keep up with performance demands. If you’re on a 2GB or 3GB device, you’ll need to upgrade to continue playing on mobile.

Trait and Champion Adjustments

The patch focuses on fine-tuning several traits and champions to improve balance and open up new strategies. Here are the key changes:

Anima Squad (6) – Removed the 15g cashout and 3x 4-cost cashout. Now gives 2x Lesser Duplicator + 5g and is more likely to drop Component/Emblem rewards.

Arbiter – Input bonuses increased: Attack Speed now 40/65%, Resists 55/80, Shield 48/70%, Gold 35%. Output shield duration extended to 10s.

N.O.V.A (5) – Buffs to underused carries: Caitlyn Headshot Damage to 50%, Akali AD scaling to 15/22/28/34%, Kindred Damage Amp to 15%.

Meeple (7) – Gold per 2-cost cloned reduced from 5 to 3, targeting the Gnar reroll comp’s consistency.

Shepherd (5/7) – Tail Sweep damage and Health Multiplier increased, especially at Shepherd (7), with shield and damage values boosted.

Champion-specific changes include Twisted Fate buffs (damage across all ability levels), Gnar base AD reduced to 48, Mordekaiser shield buffs, and Viktor ability damage increases. At tier 4, Karma, LeBlanc, Morgana, and Master Yi all receive buffs to open up more flex compositions. Shen’s Attack Speed no longer decays, making him more consistent.

Massive Augment Overhaul

The bulk of this patch’s balance focus is on Augments. The goal is to make them more general and less specific to lobby shapes. Key changes include:

Best Friends I/II now grant both Armor and Magic Resist (9/14 each).

Blood Offering now grants both AP and AD (12% each), making it viable for AP comps.

Band of Thieves II turn delay reduced to 6 (5 for the + version).

Birthday Reunion now gives 3 gold upfront and a 2-star 2-cost at Level 5.

Critical Success disabled due to inconsistent power spikes.

Loot Singularity (Dark Star) reworked: cashouts 17-20 removed, earlier component rewards, and Cashout 16 now requires 777 Matter for a legendary reward.

Restart Mission nerfed: mutually exclusive from Expedition, Clear Mind, and AFK; now gives only 2 two-star 2-costs.

Self-Destruct (Gragas) damage reduced across all levels.

Many other Augments buffed or adjusted, including Deadlier Caps, Forged in Strength, Golden Gamble, and Timestream.

Pengu’s Party Updates

Pengu’s Party also receives a set of balance changes to keep the party going. While specific details weren’t fully listed, expect adjustments to Demacia, Honeymancy, and Storyweaver synergies. Keep an eye on the in-game tooltips for the full list.
