Riot Games has announced the return of the TFT Vegas Open as part of the Convergence Fest in Las Vegas, taking place from December 11-13, 2026. This year’s event promises to be the largest in Teamfight Tactics history, featuring an expanded open bracket that welcomes 1,024 competitors—more than ever before. Whether you’re a seasoned tournament veteran or a rising star looking to make your mark on the biggest stage in TFT, the Vegas Open offers an unparalleled opportunity to compete, connect with fellow players, and see how far your run can go. Alongside the main tournament, a variety of side events and a brand-new online qualifier series, the Tactician’s Gauntlet, will provide multiple pathways to participate in this landmark esports celebration.
TFT Vegas Open Tournament Format
The TFT Vegas Open will unfold over three days, with 1,024 players competing in an open-bracket LAN tournament on Day 1 and only one champion remaining by Day 3. Players will battle on Set 19, which launches shortly before the event. The competition uses a points-based system (8 points for first place, 1 point for eighth) with points resetting between rounds. Seeding is determined by Enchanted Wilds rankings as of October 6, 2026, at 12:15 AM local time, and after Round 1, players are reseeded via a snake draft based on cumulative points.
Day 1 (Round 1): 1,024 players split into 128 lobbies of 8, playing 4 games. Top 2 from each lobby advance to Day 2.
Day 2 (Rounds 2-4): 256 players in Round 2 (32 lobbies, 3 games, top 4 advance), then 128 in Round 3 (16 lobbies, 3 games, top 4 advance), then 64 in Round 4 (8 lobbies, checkmate format: first to 20 points wins by securing 1st place or highest total after 6 games). Winners advance to Day 3.
Day 3 (Grand Final): Top 8 players compete in a checkmate format. First to 20 points wins by securing 1st place, or highest total after 8 games determines the champion.

Side Events and Tactician’s Gauntlet: Vegas Qualifiers
For players and spectators not in the main bracket, side events begin on Day 2, offering additional ways to engage with the competition. More details are in the official rulebook. Additionally, a brand-new online tournament series, the Tactician’s Gauntlet: Vegas Qualifiers, will take place from September 11-13, 2026, before competitor pass sales begin. This high-stakes 64-player event gives participants a chance to win a coveted Competitor Pass to the Vegas Open.
To enter the Tactician’s Gauntlet, players must be ranked Platinum+ and purchase an entry for $39 on the tournament sign-up page. The format consists of four rounds: Round 1 (64 players, 8 lobbies, top 4 advance), Round 2 (32 players, 4 lobbies, top 4 advance), Round 3 (16 players, 2 lobbies, top 4 advance), and Round 4 (8 players, 1 game, top 4 win a Competitor Pass, bottom 4 win an Attendee Pass). Players who finish in the bottom 4 in the first three rounds can re-buy and try again. Passes are distributed via the player’s Riot Account.
Prize Pool and Pass Pricing
The TFT Vegas Open boasts a $311,300 USD prize pool, with the champion taking home $100,000. The top 128 players will share in the winnings. Competitor Passes are priced at $349 USD and include a competitor jacket with custom badges, an in-game arena from Set 19, a commemorative Convergence Fest Riftbound Card, all official and co-streamer in-game drops, and entry into the main event. Attendee Passes are available via Fan First registration, which is now live.
